Rupert Dunklau and the Rupert Dunklau Foundation have long supported the efforts of Midland University (formerly Midland Lutheran College) in Fremont, Nebraska, and have had a special impact on the health and well-being of the institution over its lifetime. Most notably, Rupert and the Rupert Dunklau Foundation made a substantial and critical gift to Midland University at its refounding in 2012.
As part of a turnaround from the school’s near-catastrophic enrollment crisis, the Rupert Dunklau Foundation gift helped Midland rebound to one of the fastest growing schools in the country at the time. Then President of Midland University, Ben Sasse, remarked “The trust that Rupert and the Foundation placed in Midland at that moment was a vital boost to our ability to move nimbly toward the future of education and a solid new foundation for that special place.”
Midland University honored the Dunklau gifts with the naming of the Dunklau School of Business.
